Belgium Beer Luncheon Presented by Stella Artois

Featuring James Beard
Nominee Chef Carl Schroeder, Ted Smith, and Marc Stroobandt



Feast upon the delightful culinary creations of Chef Carl
Schroeder and Chef de Cuisine Ted Smith while sipping specifically paired
Belgium beers from Leffe, Hoegaarden and Stella Artois.



A two-time James Beard Foundation Semi-Finalist for Best Chef: Pacific, Chef
Schroeder is known for his simple recipes with complex tastes and holds a true
passion for local, sustainable ingredients. The creation of his plates stem not
from a recipe but through experimentation and constant tasting. Belgian Master
Beer Sommelier Marc Stroobandt, a member of the British Guild of Beer Writers,
will provide commentary on each of the beer pairings. As the leading authority
on food and beer pairings, he was awarded an honorary knighthood by the
Chevalerie du Fourquet des Brasseurs of the Confederation of Belgian Brewers.
