Art History Lectures with Derrick Cartwright

This series explores the art world of today with an eye toward the unique conditions of making, consuming, exhibiting, and sustaining a vibrant visual culture in the 21st century. Although some situations are indeed “problematic,” the point of these lectures is not to bemoan our predicaments or to offer negative judgments; rather it will be to identify more clearly the prevailing creative conditions of our contemporary moment and ask, “How did our art world get to be this way?”
