All About the Music Holiday Concert Is Sunday in La Jolla

All About Music HOLIDAY CONCERT
Sunday, Dec. 8, 1 p.m. (NEW TIME)
MCASD's Sherwood Auditorium

$10 donation

The holiday concert will feature All About Music's Youth Symphony under the leadership of Mary Gerard, the organization's founder, president, and principal conductor.

The program will include Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Vivaldi's Christmas Concerto, Rimsky-Korsakov's Dance of the Tumblers, Corelli's Christmas Concerto, Tchaikovsky's Mother Ginger from The Nutcracker, Gluck's Dance of the Blessed Spirits, Tchaikovsky's Trepak from The Nutcracker, and A Christmas Festival, a collection of carols arranged by Leroy Anderson.

The well-known Klezmer clarinetist, Robert Zelickman of 2nd Avenue Klezmer, will solo with the orchestra with two traditional Klezmer masterpieces: "Happy Nigun" and "2nd Avenue Freilach."

All About Music's last, well-received performance in La Jolla celebrated the birth of Mozart on Jan. 27 and traced his life in music through solos, string quartets, quintets, flute, harp and violin concerti, symphonies, and works with chorus, including the glorious Lacrimosa.

As the orchestra is a 501c nonprofit organization, a $10 donation would be greatly appreciated, to keep the music playing.
