Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month: Project Walk at Petco September 7

In honor of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, Petco is celebrating Friday, Sept. 7 with Project Walk pre-game celebration and benefit.

In honor of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, Project Walk of Carlsbad is celebrating with a pre-game ceremony and benefit, including an evening of roof top dining on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., sponsored by Petco.

La Jolla's own Mike Thomas, a spinal cord advocate and Project Walk client who has been quadriplegic for 14 years will be throwing the first pitch at the game as the San Diego Padres host the Arizona Diamondbacks.

For 13 years, Project Walk has touched the lives of the spinal cord injury community by organizing and working locally. All proceeds raised from the benefit will go to Project Walk projects.  

The night will also feature Kada singing the National Anthem, Joey Abicco demonstrating the Ekso Bionics, and Cory Hahn sharing his road to recovery story.
