Gallery: World's Tallest Service Dog Visits Patients at Scripps Memorial

Bentley the therapy dog visited patients and the other therapy pets at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla on Tuesday.

An extra large dog with an extra large heart visited in La Jolla on Tuesday. Bentley, a therapy dog from Colorado Springs, stands over 4 feet tall on all fours. He is in the running to be certified by the Guinness Book of World Records to be the world's tallest service dog.

Handler and pet parent Pat Malcom said Bentley, who is just 3 years old, is truly a gentle giant. Bentley is more than just a therapy dog and service dog. He is also a fundraiser. Bentley, Organix pet food and PetSmart teamed up to raise funds for CureSearch for Children's Cancer and the National Canine Cancer Foundation.

Bentley's currently on tour. His next stop is Los Angeles. Malcom said Bentley, who weighs 190, will take a few days off to relax in Venice Beach first though.
