Veterans Remembered at Mt. Soledad on 9/11

Hundreds of visitors visited the Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial on Sunday to express thanks and appreciation for the men and women who served our country and to think back on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11.

Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial provided a quiet place for visitors to take a moment of silence on the 10 year anniverary of 9/11.

It’s been ten years since that dreadful day

When the world was thrown into disarray

In the Morning the air was very calm

Find out what's happening in La Jollawith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Then there were sounds, just like a bomb

I saw the first twin tower

Being blown away with power

I knew this was no joke

When the second tower went up in smoke

There were brave cops and firefighters at the scene

The pictures were becoming from obscene

You could see a river of red

There were thousands of people who were dead

Who did this terrible act?

It was bin Laden at that’s a fact

Every year at this time we mourn

And wish that the evil doers were never born

We will always know on nine eleven

Many good souls went to heaven

Though ten years have passed since this terrible sin

Never let the Bastards win
