Trivia: The Tragedy of Valentine's Day

With Feb. 14 just around the corner, take a stab at the lengths to which some will go to feel pierced by Cupid's arrow.

Valentine’s Day is, for some people, a beautiful day celebratory of love. For others, it represents a capitalist gimmick – one cleverly designed to spur consumerist excess.

But, while florists, confectionaries, greeting card companies and restaurants are busy raking in the dough, and lovebirds everywhere busy swooning, there is another group of people out there enduring silent torture on Feb. 14: single people. More specifically, single women.

With a fully intended anti-Valentine’s Day sentiment, this week’s trivia question salutes those who will resist the urge to let this most unholy of days make them feel bad, and even more important, refuse to go off the emotional deep end.
