Forget about sending your kids to college. Filling up the gas tank is getting to be super costly. As of Jan. 24, the price per gallon at all four La Jolla gas stations was above the $3.38 price per gallon average in the county, according to GasBuddy.

1. , 2204 Torrey Pines Rd.: Prices at this location were the same from last week at $3.39 for regular unleaded, $3.53 for unleaded plus, and $3.63 for premium. The price of diesel was $3.59 per gallon.
2. , 7475 La Jolla Blvd.: Prices at this location increased from last week. Prices were $3.47 for unleaded and $3.65 for unleaded plus, $3.75 for premium. The price of diesel was $3.59 per gallon. A nice touch at the Chevron is the sign cheering on the Chargers. It's been up all season.
3. , 3232 La Jolla Village Dr.: The cost per gallon was $3.65 for unleaded, $3.75 for unleaded plus, $3.85 for premium and $3.65 for diesel.
4. , 801 Pearl St.: And last, but definitely not least, prices at the 76 station were $3.59 for unleaded, $3.89 for unleaded plus, $4.09 for premium and $3.79 for diesel if you pay cash. If you pay with credit, the price per gallon is $3.79 for regular, $4.09 for unleaded plus, $4.29 for premium and $3.99 for diesel.
