SDG&E Restores Power to La Jolla Customers

A power outage was reported in parts of La Jolla Shores and Soledad Mountain on Saturday at 4:19 p.m.

Crews have restored power to all the majority of 3,671 San Diego Gas & Electric customers hit with a late afternoon power outage, utility officials said Saturday.

The outage was reported at 4:19 p.m. and affected customers in La Jolla, La Jolla Shores, Soledad Mountain, Mission Bay and Pacific Beach.

By 5 p.m., service was restored to all but 372 customers, according to the SDG&E website.

Crews expected to have electricity restored to the remaining customers shortly before 7 p.m., according to the utility.

Smoke was spotted coming out of a grate in front of a transformer box on Soledad Mountain Road shortly before 4:30 p.m., but it was unclear if that incident was related to the outage, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.
