Groundhog Day: The Prediction is In

We've got the one of the best climates here in San Diego. When will the East Coast get a break? Let's see what Phil says.

Punxsutawney Phil, the weather prognosticating groundhog, saw his shadow during the 126th celebration of Groundhog Day on Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, PA today. Phil's shadow predicts six more weeks of winter weather.

Here in La Jolla, we can expect a high of 64 today with west winds around 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 51. Temperatures are expected to inch up a bit starting Friday and continuing through the weekend. Expect sunny skies, and highs around 68 to 71. Nighttime lows are expected to be around 52—so keep your Snuggie handy.
