The teen was treated for hypothermia and taken to a hospital.

A 16-year-old Mexican national aboard a disabled panga boat almost a mile off La Jolla called 911 for help and was towed to Mission Bay early Saturday morning, where he was treated for hypothermia and sent to a hospital, according to authorities.

The call was made around 2 a.m. and boats from the Coast Guard and Lifeguard Services responded, said lifeguard Nick Lerna. The Border Patrol also responded and conducted an investigation, Lerna said.

The teen was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center. His condition has not been released.
