Cricket Releases Best of 2012 Albums on Muve Music

On Tuesday, Cricket announced Muve Music’s top artists, albums and songs of 2012—among some of the top albums were Trey Songz, Gotye, Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber, Prince Royce, and 2 Chainz. Check out the graphics to the right for the full list and to find your favorite artists! Muve Music’s close relationship with their customers also appeals to these top artists who can reach their biggest fans through the service. Trey Songz said, “Muve Music makes it easy for me to showcase my music and connect with my fans.” In addition, Wiz Khalifa said, “Muve Music has allowed me to launch my music to new audiences.”

The total of these 30 albums, 30 singles and 30 artists means everything to Muve Music listeners who, by their choice of song plays in 2012 created Muve Music’s Best of 2012 lists and also contributed to Billboard’s Hot 100 list that names the best in the industry. Record sales and radio plays have typically determined who earned top billing, but as of 2012, Muve Music, the first on-demand music service designed exclusively for the mobile phone, and other on-demand services have changed the music industry ranking criteria. Now, song plays and downloads from on-demand services are part of that equation for the best songs of the year. 

The Muve Music Best of 2012 charts include a diverse genre mix with Hip Hop, Pop, Latin, Country, R&B, and Rock proving Muve Music customers’ passion for variety and music discovery. For the Best of 2012 Albums and Singles lists, Muve Music filtered for music that was released in 2012 and calculated rankings based on song plays from January through December 17.  To add interest and to show another sample of music preferences, the Best of 2012 Artists list included artists who were most played during the calendar year 2012 ending December 17, but who released music prior to 2012.
