Tri-City Medical Center Goes Red on February 7 in Support of Heart Health

On February 7, people all across America will wear red to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease. Here in our own backyard, San Diego residents can express their support by participating in one of Tri-City Medical Center’s many "Go Red" activities. As a national leader in cardiac care and a champion of early congenital heart defect detection, Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside is hosting a number of events in support of the American Heart Association’s national Go Red movement.

  • On February 7, which is national Wear Red day, the hospital’s newborns will don red caps and baby clothes to help promote awareness of heart disease. Babies born in the hospital on February 7 will receive red onesies.
  • On February 6, the Tri-City Wellness Center is also hosting a free “The Doc is In” lecture about heart disease risk factors and prevention in the Tri-City Wellness Center Conference Room at 6250 El Camino Real in Carlsbad. For more information and to RSVP, visit www.tricitywellness.com or call (855) 222-8262.
  • Go Red month doesn’t have to be just about women. Heart disease affects all of us. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Tri-City is offering 2-for-1 heart screenings for the entire month of February. Participants get a clear picture of their heart health, an accurate assessment of their chances of developing heart disease, and education on the appropriate steps to decrease risk of stroke and heart attack. For more information & to schedule a screening, visit https://www.tricitymed.org/services/cardiovascular/schedule-a-screening/ or call (855) 222-8262.
  • On February 7 at 11 a.m., Tri-City staff members decked in red will pose for a special photo in front of the hospital. Participants will be making the heart symbol with their hands in the photo. From Feb 7 – 9, the side of the hospital will be illuminated with “Tri-City Medical Center goes red for heart awareness” in red lights.
