La Jolla Solar Program Launches Today For Local Property Owners

With the vision of creating a strong solar community in La Jolla, local business Sullivan Solar Power launched the La Jolla Solar Program today. Property owners that participate are able to receive significant cash incentives in addition to the federal tax credit. The innovative program, launched January 15, allows residents to go solar for no upfront cost and receive substantial cash-back awards for their involvement.

“San Diego is the solar capital of the nation, and La Jolla is the ideal community to be a statewide leader in the adoption of renewable energy,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power, “Members of this community are dedicated to declaring energy independence from foreign fossil fuels and preserving natural resources for the next generation.”

The La Jolla Solar Program is available to property owners in the communities of La Jolla, Bird Rock and University City. The program offers residents $0.20 per watt, up to $1,500 and is limited to 100 participants, or 500,000 Watts, whichever occurs first. The incentive program will expire on April 15, 2014.

“Solar is a wise financial investment, especially in today’s market,” said Sullivan, “And with the cash reward that we are offering to the community through this program you can get paid for going solar, making it a no-brainer.”

An informational solar luncheon will be taking place for property owners on Saturday, February 1st from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. in the La Jolla Community Center, located at 6811 La Jolla Blvd. The presentation will inform residents about solar technology, rebates and incentives, and details of the La Jolla Solar Program.
