BCA Architects Holds 10th Annual Client Appreciation Golf Tournament to Raise Money for Local Charity, CASA

Pleasanton, CA – BCA Architects hosted its 10th Annual Client Appreciation Tournament to celebrate 25 years of practice and to raise money for the Court Appointed Special Advocate Association of California (CASA), a local nonprofit that works to help abused and neglected children. Approximately 80 golfers took to the beautiful links during perfect weather at Callippe Preserve Golf Course and raised $1,400.00 for CASA.  BCA’s Theme of “Emerging Greens,” reflects both the ongoing recovery in the economy and BCA’s commitment to sustainable practice in architecture and design.

“It is vitally important to our organization and our business partners that we gather each year and celebrate our collective successes as a Team – this year in particular has been a challenging year for the architecture industry,” stated Paul Bunton, AIA, president of BCA Architects. “We came up with the theme “emerging greens” to reflect our commitment to rebuild our industry through green building and design.”

The charitable tournament raised significant money for CASA. The National CASA Association is a network of 946 programs that are recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and other settings. BCA values working with this charity, as many of BCA’s projects involve educational facilities, and they share the common goal of bettering children’s lives with CASA.

“We want to thank the entire BCA Architect crew for letting us come and have fun and represent CASA of San Mateo County for the third year in a row as their charity of choice,” said Brigitte Greenstone, Development Associate for CASA of San Mateo County. “This is such a wonderful opportunity for us to come out have fun and raise money, but most importantly raise awareness about our work with fostering children in our community. At the last year’s BCA Annual Client Appreciation Tournament, we not only raised money and awareness, but we also recruited a wonderful CASA volunteer who has done great work speaking up for a child in the court system. Unfortunately, we have about 300 more children on our waitlist. These children are waiting for a CASA volunteer to speak up for them and since it costs about $2,500/year to recruit, train and support one CASA volunteer, it is imperative that we keep up healthy relationships  with caring and loving friends like BCA Architects.”

BCA appreciates each and every one of the many sponsors that helped BCA celebrate the many successful projects designed and completed during 2013 as well as for their generosity for CASA.

BCA Architects was recently named a finalist in the Design Journal’s ADEX Awards for the following projects: El Capitan High School Project, Christopher High School: Phase 1, the Mendota Unified School District Master Plan, the Brea Olinda Unified School District Master Plan and Lincoln Elementary School in Anaheim City. These designs all incorporated sustainability, elements of 21st Century Education and safety initiatives.
