A new sandwich has arrived in town—the sub. Jersey Mike’s Subs opened at 7836 Herschel Ave. on Wednesday. The old school sub shop serves up classic sub sandwiches, wraps and salads for dine in or take out.
Menu items include the popular Original Italian sub with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni; and the Roast Beef and Provolone with certfied Angus USDA choice top round beef. We suggest getting subs “Mike's Way” with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil, vinegar and spices. These subs earned Jersey Mike’s a spot as the No. 1 sub in the country by Travel Channel’s Sandwich Paradise.
Mike's also serves up hot subs like the Famous Philly cheese steak, wraps, giant salads, chips, cookies and Tastykakes.
The owners, the Kenney brothers, are real Jersey boys (no, not Frank Valli or Mike “the Situation.”) You can catch the crafting subs in both the La Jolla and Solana Beach locations. Their next shop is in Pacific Beach at 1975 Garnett Ave.
Jersey Mike’s will offer bicycle delivery with a three sub minimum order. A $5.50 delivery fee will apply. It will also offer catering. If you want to eat in, there is both indoor and outdoor seating.
The La Jolla store is one of 500-plus Jersey Mike’s Subs across the U.S., with the original in Point Pleasant, N.J.
