Where to find the lowest gas prices in La Jolla.

Looking for the cheapest gasoline in La Jolla? Fill up on information that will appear in this regular column. As of Dec. 26, the price per gallon at all four La Jolla gas stations was above the $3.28 price per gallon average in the county and in California. In addition, the cost per gallon was up from the national average of $3.03 per gallon of regular, according to GasBuddy.

The lowest price overall was found at Encon on the corner of Torrey Pines Road and La Jolla Shores Drive. The price per gallon of regular at this station was just $0.04 shy of the price per gallon at the Chevron on La Jolla Boulevard. The highest was at the 76 on Pearl.

  1. Encon, 2204 Torrey Pines Rd.: Prices increased at this location from last week to $3.35 for regular unleaded, $3.49 for unleaded plus, and $3.59 for premium. The price of diesel remained the same at $3.59 per gallon.
  2. , 7475 La Jolla Blvd.: Prices at this location also increased. Prices were $3.39 for unleaded and $3.59 for unleaded plus, $3.69 for premium. The price of diesel was $3.59 per gallon.
  3. , 3232 La Jolla Village Dr.: The cost per gallon at Mobil was also stable from last two week at $3.49 for unleaded, $3.59 for unleaded plus, $3.69 for premium and $3.59 for diesel.
  4. , 801 Pearl St.: The price per gallon at this station is still the most expensive in the area, even with prices remaining steady from last week. The cost per gallon was $3.49 for unleaded, $3.79 for unleaded plus, $3.99 for premium and $3.69 for diesel if you pay cash. If you pay with credit the price per gallon is $3.69 for regular, $3.99 for unleaded plus, $4.19 for premium and $3.89 for diesel.
