Shire Regenerative Medicine is a part of Ireland-headquartered Shire (NASDAQ: SHPG), a biopharmaceutical company. In June, the company announced plans to expand its operational foodprint and presence in San Diego over the next several years.
A month later, the firm made another big move. Shire announced that Advanced BioHealing, Inc., which was acquired by Shire in 2011 as a wholly-owned subsidiary focused on regenerative medicine, changed its name to Shire Regenerative Medicine.
The company’s lead regenerative medicine product, DERMAGRAFT, is a bio-engineered skin substitute indicated for use in the treatment of full-thickness diabetic foot ulcers.
