Hotel La Jolla hosted a grand opening celebration Thursday to celebrate the completion of extensive property renovations and new partnerships with community members.

Dozens of grand opening guests got to tour the property too. Everything on the ground floor was resigned, even the driveway, which features firepots, a 12-foot sculpture, and stacked valet entrance.

The lobby is open with natural light flowing in from large glass walls, a warm fireplace and casual seating areas off of the front desk.

And the outdoor lounge is casual and comfortable with oversized and cushioned seating areas.

The 11-floor restaurant, which offers a 280-degree view of the ocean is now Cusp Dining & Drinks. Every seat in the wave shaped bar faces the view and nearly every table has a view of the ocean as well. Chef Donald Lockhart is serving up coastal Mediterranean dishes. And Cusp is open for three meals a day.

Marine colors, shapes and materials were used in the casual hotel designs. The same fabrics, materials and stone elements can be seen from the lobby entrance, which Kimpton likes to call the “living room” through to the “sleep rooms" and out to the pool area and top floor restaurant.

Stop by to take a tour yourself.
