Photos: Hotel La Jolla Celebrates Changes

Hotel La Jolla hosted an official re-launch party on Thursday after months of renovations.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants officially re-launched Hotel La Jolla on Thursday after a $4 million renovation. The property re-opened in August after several months of renovations to the ground floor lobby, restaurant, pool and outdoor lounge, meeting space, fitness center and rooms.

Owned by Westport Capital Partners and Cove Equity Group, LLC and designed by prominent designer Gulla Jonsdottir and La Jolla’s Claude-Anthony Marengo, the new Hotel La Jolla offers 110 guestrooms, each with a patio or balcony that feature views towards La Jolla Shores and the ocean.

One of the most dramatic changes is the reinvention and rebranding of its 11th-floor restaurant. Hotel La Jolla’s old restaurant Clays is now Cusp Dining & Drinks, led by Executive Chef Donald Lockhart.
