Leave the Whine at Home, Escape for Some Wine

Enjoy a couple of precious hours every week where you indulge in yourself.

Your children may take naps to rejuvenate themselves. Your husband may turn on SportsCenter to unwind. Why not treat yourself to a little “me time” as well. Leave the whining at home and head out for some real wine. This week’s Great Escape pick is to grab a glass of that delicious red or white vino. Our suggestions include a wine bar, wine tour and local winery. Cheers!

  • Witch Creek Winery is not your typical winery. While you won’t see rolling hills of grape vine after grape vine, it is located just one block from the beach. Witch Creek wines are available exclusively through their tasting rooms, wine club membership and website. The tasting room is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (these are winter hours). Witch Creek is located at 2906 Carlsbad Blvd. in Carlsbad and can be reached at 760-720-7499.
