La Jolla Hotel Makes AAA 5-Diamond Rating

The Lodge at Torrey Pines joins two other San Diego County hotels and one restaurant to receive AAA's five-star diamond ratings.

Three San Diego area hotels and one restaurant received the coveted AAA five-diamond rating, the Automobile Club of Southern California announced on Friday.

The hotels are The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad and The Grand Del Mar in Carmel Valley. Addison at The Grand Del Mar was one of only two restaurants in Southern California to be awarded five diamonds.

Sixteen hotels throughout Southern California were given the top rating.

“The AAA Five Diamond Rating is ‘the’ prestigious designation in North America for the global hospitality industry,” said Patricia Marenco, the organization's approved accommodations supervisor. “It represents meticulous personalized attention, world-class service and imaginative menus using the finest ingredients in order to reach the AAA's highest standard of service in travel and dining excellence.”
