The ultimate in indoor cycling is now open in La Jolla. Located at 7777 Fay Avenue Suite G1, SPARKCYCLE offers riders the best fusion of fun and sweat with a schedule full of heart-pumping classes.

Differentiating SPARKCYCLE is its unique "Book Your Bike" system, where riders can log on to the website, select their desired classes for the week and book their favorite bike from a real-time map of the 40 cycles in the studio. "For our clients who have a favorite spot, the 'Book Your Bike' system lets users not only guarantee their slot in class, but also ensures they are in their optimum workout spot whether it is right down in front or tucked in the back," said Stephanie Cochrane, SPARKCYCLE co-founder. SPARKCYCLE offers San Diego’s very best instructors, two of which drive over 80 miles to teach at the studio.

Popular with a variety of fitness enthusiasts, indoor cycling classes are a great way to burn a large amount of calories in a relatively short amount of time. SPARKCYCLE features stadium-style staging, so everyone has a view of the instructor, an upgraded QSC sound system, disco-inspired lighting, men's and women's locker rooms that include four showers and free validated parking in the adjacent parking garage. SPARKCYCLE is also the first indoor cycling studio in San Diego County integrating hand weights into their classes, offering an even more comprehensive workout.

The new SPARKCYCLE features seven of the very best high-energy instructors who come to La Jolla all the way from Orange County, downtown San Diego and Solana Beach to teach classes.

"At SPARKCYCLE, we think you should look forward to your workout, not dread it," said Cochrane. "A full-body workout in 45 minutes can be fun, inspiring and exciting. That’s what we strive to create for each class: beat-driven music mixes, people singing along to the songs and a community people with the same goals. Each pushing each other to do their best and enjoy the ride -- it's really like going to a dance club on your bike -- the workout literally flies by," she added.

Compared to other high-intensity workouts like running, cycling is a great choice for anyone looking to stay fit without impact on your knees, ankles and hips. An average 45-minute indoor cycling class burns anywhere from 500 to 900 calories, depending on the participant's effort level and body composition.

Beyond offering a great workout, SPARKCYCLE gives back to the local community with one class per week that is completely donation-based, with 100% of donations collected from the ride going to a monthly rotating charity. True to the class name, they are called ‘KARMA Rides’ and can be booked on the website for only $1.00.
