Price in San Diego County increased for the 11th time in 13 days.

By City News Service

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Sunday for the 11th time in 13 days, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.884.

The average price has risen 4.5 cents over the past 13 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on both Friday and Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 3.2 cents more than one week ago, but 7.8 cents less than one month ago and 27.5 cents lower than one year ago, thanks to a stretch of 33 decreases in 34 days that ended Aug. 27.

The rising pump prices are caused by increasing oil prices stemming from continued Middle East tension, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
