Gasoline Price Drops for Eighth Consecutive Day

The drop is attributed to the resolution of supply issues that caused the latest price hike.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell 1.1 cents Thursday to $3.959, the eighth consecutive decrease following a 16-day streak of rising prices.

The average price is 6.3 cents less than one week ago and 16.2 cents lower than one year ago, but 12 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

In La Jolla, the lowest gas price is $3.91 at Encon, 2204 Torrey Pines Rd., and the highest is 4.119 at Mobil, 3233 La Jolla Village Drive, according to sandiegogasprices.com.

The dropping prices are the result of a resolution of supply issues that had caused the latest increases in prices, according to Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
