The price per gallon of regular gasoline varies greatly from station to station in La Jolla. One gallon at the Chevron on the corner of La Jolla Boulevard and Pearl Street was $3.98 on Tuesday morning and just a few blocks away the price per gallon of regular full-service gas was $5.70.

Prices in the 92037 are well above the San Diego average of $3.853 and well above the national average of $3.491. Average gas prices for San Diego and the nation were provided by GasBuddy.com. The good news is that GasBuddy predicts prices are falling.

It is a good idea to fill up closer to home. Some of the highest gas stations in the county include $4.29 per gallon of regular at the Shell on Del Mar Heights Road near Interstate 5 and $4.15 per gallon of regular at the Shell on Carmel Valley Road and Carmel Valley Court.
