Extreme Pizza in La Jolla Closes Doors

The local restaurant closed this weekend.

The oven has been turned off and the lights are out. Extreme Pizza on Kline Street in La Jolla closed its doors on Sunday. Owner Kevin Smith confirmed by email on Monday that Extreme Pizza served up its last pie this weekend.

The shop offered sandwich platters, salads, calzones, boneless wings and various types of pizza.

On Twitter, Extreme Pizza posted that it had "Opened in village in Feb 2007. Dedicated and helpful staff since the beginning. Awesome customer loyalty. New owners will be changing the concept. The always changing La Jolla Village."
