Two local business owners partnered up with Girls Think Tank for a holiday benefit. Now through Christmas, customers who bring in new or gently used cold weather apparel items, including hats socks, gloves and scarves into on Fay Avenue and on Regents Road in UTC, can save 25 percent off packaging and discounts on Air shipping. Girls Think Tank, a local nonprofit, will distribute the items in winter survival backpacks.

The UPS Store owners Greg Gagnon and Dennis Stein are offering the deal at their La Jolla UTC, Mira Mesa, North Park and Chula Vista stores.

“While UPS is a huge, worldwide brand, we’re just two local store owners who want to serve our communities,” said Gagnon in a press release. “We considered Angel Tags and other holiday-appropriate ideas, but quickly recognized we can help the very people we pass on the streets each day. There’s something innately good about helping those in your own community, and it just feels right.”
