Candidates Named in La Jolla Village Merchants Association Elections

There are six open seats on the La Jolla Village Merchants Association's board. Ballots must be received by 5 p.m., Oct. 7.

The candidates for board of directors of the were named earlier this week.

The eight candidates are:

There are six open seats. Five are three-year terms and one is an unexpired term created by the resignation of Bryan King. That term expires October 2012.

The top five vote getters will win three-year terms and the sixth top vote getter will take the unexpired term.

All businesses that have paid the La Jolla Business Improvement District assessment by Sept. 30, 2011 are eligible to vote in this election. Ballots are expected to be mailed out on Sept. 23. Businesses that pay the BID assessment after Sept. 23 can request a ballot by contacting Rosemary Murrieta at 858-829-3248 or rmurrieta@lajollabythesea.com.

Ballots must be received by 5 p.m., Oct. 7 at the San Diego Office of Small Business. Ballots received after this time will not be counted.

Ballots will be opened and counted at the at 8:30 a.m., Oct. 12. Results will be announced immediately following the counting.
