Closed: Bruegger's Bagels

The franchise owned bagel shop closed in La Jolla last month.

The hunt for fresh baked bagels just got a bit harder. Bruegger's Bagels Bakery on Pearl recently closed. The owners did not disclose the reason for the sudden closure.

A spokeswoman for Brugger's said it will continue to look for locations that serve the surrounding area.

Guests that purchased Bruegger’s 2011-2012 Bottomless Mugs from the La Jolla bakery will be entitled to a pro-rated refund and are asked to call 888-8-BAKERY.

Lucky for La Jollans, there are several other bakeries that serve up bagels hot everyday. To get your bready bagel fix, stop by on La Jolla Boulevard in Windansea, on Regents Park Row near UTC (be sure to validate your parking), or on Girard Avenue in the Village. Many other grocery stores including and carry bagels in the bakery.
