Bridal Boutique Opens in Bird Rock

VaLena Valentina Couture opened its flagship store in Bird Rock late last year.

VaLena Valentina Couture is a bridal boutique that opened its doors late last year in Bird Rock. Russian born Elena Ham is the owner and designer of VaLena Valentina. After obtaining a Masters Degree from St. Petersburg Textile Institute, Ham relocated to San Diego and started the VaLena Valentina line, named after her mother. She describes the line as "classic and romantic."

The VaLena Valentina line is also available at bridal salons across the U.S. and Canada, as well as online at VaLena Valentina Couture, but this is their first flaship store.

The salon focuses exclusively on its line, offering a final product, not a custom design. However, they do offer customizations upon request.

According to Ham, "We like to make brides happy, we can't offer the same gown to all brides. Each bride is unique."

VaLena Valentina currently carries bridal gowns and veils, but will soon introduce accessories, evening gowns and gowns for the mother of the bride. Each gown is made locally using high quality fabrics such as imported French lace and 100 percent silk. Dresses need to be ordered approximately 9 months in advance and prices range from $1,800 to $7,500.
