Bottega Brandina La Jolla to Hold Grand Opening Party on Aug. 11

This new seaside-inspired bag and accessory store sells products made from unique fabrics.

Bottega Brandina might not be holding its official grand opening until Aug. 11, but that's not to say that they haven't been drawing quite a bit of attention in the interim.

This is the second U.S. store opened by Italian-based designer/artist Marco Morosini, whose name may be familiar for some due to his work designing a number of and showrooms.

His first stateside Brandina venture opened in Charleston, SC, in May, and this, the La Jolla store, opened to the public on July 16. Store manager Christine Hitz said the ambiance and feel of La Jolla was the perfect fit for the type of products they sell, and that Prospect Street affords a European-boutique setting.

So what makes Brandina so special? Concept, concept, concept. Each handbag is made out of the same type of fabric that's used to make the famed Italian sun-loungers chairs—with fabric handles placed on the daytime casual bags and leather handles used for the more formal nighttime bag. They also offer a number of spa bags, which at first glance look more like swimming caps. The flirty, fun, Euro-boutique sells a number of items, and because of the unique concept behind the designs, Brandina will be able to easily differentiate itself from its neighbors.

Brandina's grand opening will take place on Aug. 11 from 6-8 p.m. It will feature Italian appetizers, wine, and sparkling water. RSVPs should be emailed to chitz@passportbrandsinc.com.
