Bites Nearby: 160 Beers, Gourmet Comfort Food at Sublime Ale House

Take the 20-minute drive to Del Mar to try Sublime Ale House near the San Diego Polo Fields. The restaurant opened in June.

Newly opened Sublime Tavern in Del Mar is sublime for comfort food fanatics, beer lovers and wine enthusiasts.

It has some of the best Mac & Cheese you'll encounter in North County. We suggest trying the Sublime Mac & Cheese which comes with Rosemary rotisserie chicken, mushrooms, applewood smoked bacon and truffle oil.

If spicy comfort food is your thing, try the Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese with a side of sweet potato fries. The fries also come with a honey butter dipping sauce.

The restaurant uses local vegetables and serves up local beer. There are more than 160 beers to choose from and if you prefer a variety, go for a flight.

Sublime Ale House serves up great pizza too with fun names like, "Get Figgy With It," which comes with figs, prosciutto, balsamic glaze, arugula and parmesan. Other fun names include the Slap Yo Mama Burger that has brie, caramelized onion and bacon jam.

If you are in the mood for a healthy meal, there are salads on the menu. However I suggest coming with the mindset of wanting to indulge in some cheesy gourmet comfort food.
