The local Apple Store opened its doors at 8 a.m. on Friday to a large crowd eager to get their hands on the iPhone 4S, which has a dual-core A5 processor, 8 MP camera and a voice activated assistant called Siri.

Blanchard like many others in line were most excited for Siri. The new feature figures out the right apps to use to find the right answer, Apple explains. It makes phone calls, send messages, schedules meetings and more, according to Apple.

Marian Wang, a student at UC San Diego, got in line at 4 p.m. on Thursday. She said she was most excited to get an update from her older phone.

By late Friday afternoon, the UTC Apple store had sold out of all iPhone 4S phones for Sprint and the 16GB black model for the AT&T network.
