AOL Real Estate’s House of the Day Is in Neighboring Del Mar

This fancy $26.5 million house on Camino Del Mar was built for Architectural Digest's founder.

AOL Real Estate named a $26.5 million house on a half-acre lot in north Del Mar the House of the Day Thursday morning. The house was built by famed architect Bob Ray Offenhauser for Colleen Knapp, the founder of Architectural Digest.

According to AOL, the luxury property was listed for $50 million in 2010 but has now dropped to nearly half the price. With 10 percent down, your monthly mortgage payment with insurance and taxes is just $174,064.

This beachfront house is not far from the restaurants and boutiques of Del Mar Village and very close to the action at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
