Children and grandchildren of Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla employees toured the hospital Monday and learned about summer safety and careers in medicine.
The inquisitive children, ages 8 to 13, toured the Mercy Air helicopter and an ambulance. They also learned how to cast a limb in the Emergency Department, made friends with certified pet therapy dogs, and learned how to properly hand-washing techniques.
