How To Make A Luscious Key Lime Martini

This Key Lime recipe will make your next party a hit !

I don't know about you, but I have a passion for key lime anything. When my bartender, Judy, made this martini for me to try, the flavor and the texture were fantastic!

Since then I have been on a quest to find someone who can make it as good. To be honest, I haven't found anyone yet. If you didn't know, Florida is known for Key limes. They are sort of the flamingos of Florida especially in Key West.

A little bit if history about the Key lime tree, which is native to Malaysia, and probably first arrived in the Florida Keys in the 1500s with the Spanish. Key limes look a little like a confused lemon, because they are smaller than a golf ball and are yellow-green with brown spots.

When a hurricane wiped out the Key lime plantations in Florida, they were replaced with perisan limes. These limes are easier to pick and transport than Key limes. Today there are only a few Key lime trees here and there.

Okay, I will give you the long-awaited recipe, and I challenge anyone who thinks they have a better recipe. Please send it to me.

Key Lime Martini

Pour into a shaker:

  • 2 ounces vanilla vodka
  • 2 ounces Key lime juice
  • 1 Splash of lemon-lime soda
  • 1/2 ounce of vanilla coffee creamer

Fill the shaker with ice shake well.

Crush 6 graham crackers into fine pieces. Rim the glass with graham cracker crumbs, pour and ENJOY!
