UCSD Celebrates Dr. Seuss' Birthday on Campus

UC San Diego celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday on campus Friday with cake, whimsical music and a giant Cat in the Hat.

Party-goers gathered at the base of Geisel Library at UC San Diego on Friday to attend a birthday party for Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel.

The birthday extravaganza was open to all students and Dr. Seuss fans to honor the prolific children's book author on what would have been his 109th birthday (Born March 2, 1904.) Dr. Seuss was a former La Jolla and supporter of the university.

The Geisel Library holds the largest collection of original Dr. Seuss works. An exhibit from the Mandeville Special Collections Library’s Dr. Seuss Collection are currently on view through March 18 in Geisel Library.
