The Flaming Lips to Play La Jolla Playhouse's Annual Gala in March

The Playhouse will host its gala on March 9 and tickets are still available.

The Flaming Lips will return to the La Jolla Playhouse for a special performance this spring. The group, whose music was featured in the Playhouse's recent musical Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, will headline it's annual gala on March 9.

But it's not just about the entertainment, it is also about the food and drink. Pamplemousse Grille Chef Chef Strauss will be serving up a gourmet dinner.

And the gala will feature wine from the private collections of Playhouse supporters, including Paula Marie Black, Gail and Ralph Bryan, Robyn Cohen and Miles Grant, Debby and Hal Jacobs, Deni and Jeff Jacobs, Joan and Irwin Jacobs, Lynelle and Bill Lynch, Lise Wilson and Steven Strauss, Vivien and Jeffrey Ressler and Marilyn and Michael Yeatts.

At last year's gala, award-winning actor Peter Gallagher performed a riveting cabaret-style set featuring popular standards and anecdotes about his career on Broadway, film and TV. And the after party rocked with dancing to the tunes of Sue Palmer, the Queen of Boogie Woogie.
