See Works of Art; Give the Gift of Food

Jewish Family Services is holding an artful fundraiser at MCASD La Jolla on Thursday that will benefit a youth pantry.

Thursday night, brushes and forks will come together to benefit a local youth food pantry.

“,” is an event put on by the Jewish Family Services San Diego (JFSSD). The program at the JFSSD that is throwing the event is called Emerging Leaders, a “premier network for community-minded, philanthropic young professionals,” according to JFSSD. 

The networking event is being held at the (MCASD) in La Jolla this week. Brushes + Forks, aside from being a networking opportunity for young professionals, is also a fundraiser.

The money raised at the artful event will go toward hunger. According to a JFSSD press release, 100 percent of the proceeds from the night will go toward food programs at the center, both the Foodmobile and the HandUp Youth Food Pantry.

The night will include a live DJ, food, wine and cocktails, including a beer, chocolate and cheese pairing.  There will even be a shopping opportunity for holiday gifts, as 10 vendors with jewelry, clothing and artwork will be on hand showing off their stuff.

Aside from food, music and shopping, guests can browse the galleries at MCASD during their visit. Featured galleries include minimalism and pop art of the 60s and 70s.
