Second City Coming Back to La Jolla for More Laughs

The Chicago-based comedy troupe has launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Bill Murray and more.

La Jolla Playhouse announced Friday the return of The Second City, following the enormously-successful run last summer of their original San Diego-centric show, The Good, the Bad and the I-5. This time they’ll light up the stage with The Second City’s Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue, to run Nov. 28 – Dec. 21 in the Mandell Weiss Forum.

This hilarious new holiday production captures all the magic, mystery and mayhem of the season with original songs, sketches and improv. The perfect antidote to the annual office party, The Second City's Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue will make a fantastic addition to your list of holiday traditions.

“The last time The Second City came to the Playhouse, they roasted San Diego so thoroughly that our mayor resigned at the end of the run,” joked La Jolla Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley. “With The Second City’s Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue, this legendary company returns to unleash their inimitable brand of satirical humor on the holiday season.”
