'Second City' Coming Back a Second Time to La Jolla

Sketch comedy and improv gurus The Second City will return to the La Jolla Playhouse in March, 2013 for its "Laughing Matters" tour.

The Second City will return March 20–23, 2013 at the to perform in playhouse’s specially-designed cabaret-style performance space in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. The space will have a supper club feel, with multi-level platforms and custom banquettes.

The sketch comedy group returns on their Laughing Matters tour. Second City helped launch the careers of many comedians including Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey and Bill Murray.

“Last year, the Playhouse introduced San Diego audiences to Second City’s signature blend of sketch comedy and improv,” said Artistic Director Christopher Ashley in an announcement. “As soon as their last performance ended, we started planning their next visit. Fortunately, there seems to be no shortage of things to make fun of in the last year.”
