Second City Will Make You 'Laugh Out Loud'

Comedians from The Second City are putting on a 'laugh out loud' show at the La Jolla Playhouse this week.

Do you find Tina Fey funny? Do Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell crack you up? Does Bill Murray make you laugh? Then you need to visit the this week for some “laugh out loud” sketch comedy.

The Second City has been around for 52 years and is responsible for launching the aforementioned comedians’ careers. It originated in Chicago back in 1959 and has won numerous awards since, including two Emmy awards.

Beginning March 21, The Second City will be in La Jolla for their tour. The funny show will feature their trademark improvisation in both song and sketch and is running for four days with a total of five shows.

Performance schedule is as follows:

  • March 21, 22 and 23: 8 p.m.
  • March 24: 7 and 9:30 p.m.

Laugh Out Loud will be performed in the cabaret-style Potiker Theatre at the Playhouse. The unique space features a 1920s "supper club" atmosphere with multi-level platforms.
