Sandra Bernhard’s career started at La Jolla’s Comedy Store sister store in the 70s and now she’s in town to deliver some high-energy laughs.
The is presenting Bernhard’s new show this week. The four-day event will feature just five showings of the funny woman, with show times as follows:
- March 14, 15 and 16: 8 p.m.
- March 17: 7 and 9:30 p.m.
I Love Being Me, Don’t You? features Bernhard’s outrageous humor, cutting satire and fiercely energetic live performance combined with a back up band to provide the soundtrack. This show draws on her acclaimed new comedy recording of the same name and takes place in the specially-designed cabaret space in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre at the Playhouse.
Bernhard got her start in comedy at L.A.’s Comedy Store, dear and near sister to La Jolla’s own . She writes and produces her own one-woman shows and has appeared on numerous television shows, like Ally McBeal, The Larry Sanders Show, The Sopranos and Will and Grace.
