“To suggest that Steve Poltz isn’t normal is about as safe a statement as one could make,” wrote the music journalist Joe Daly about the prolific singer-songwriter. “You would basically require the powers of the Hubble space telescope to locate Steve Poltz from any region of normalcy.”

Indeed, Poltz has staked a career on the abnormal, from his bizarre lyrics (“Who stole my wallet. While I was away? It must be Ken Follet. He always had his way. With my baby”) to his sometimes-odd live performances.

But Poltz is more than just a funnyman. He formed the band The Rugburns while attending UC San Diego and later toured extensively with Jewel. His own hit songs include Everything About You, You Were Meant for Me and Silver Lining. He now tours extensively, bringing his folk rock style to pretty much anyone who will listen.

With Poltz, audiences are sure to get a little bit of everything at this year’s Green Flash Concert Series.
