UCSD said Lucy Guerin is a master of contemporary dance form. She creates the most intricate and detailed of choreographies, layering ordinary experiences in surprisingly visceral ways, UCSD said in a preview.
Her most recent show, Weather, "explores the extremities of our ever-changing climate, pitting the human form against the uncontrollable power of nature. Under an impressive cloud of textures and changing colors, seven dancers inhabit the increasingly unpredictable patterns of weather–bathing in sunshine, bending to inescapable forces, and casting dark shadows on their own inner landscapes. Shifting between moments of understated intensity to maelstroms of movement that feel chaotic, wild, and almost improvised, Weather is a show of climatic proportions."
Tickets for the Oct. 9 show at 8 p.m. are $12 for students, $24 to $39 for subscribers and $28 to $46 for others. Ticket can be purchased online
