Last Week to Catch ‘An Iliad' at La Jolla Playhouse

"An Iliad" will finish up its four week run at the La Jolla Playhouse this Sunday.

If you are already thinking about the weekend, this post is for you. La Jolla Patch's selected seeing An Iliad at the as a our event of the week. The play runs through Sunday.

An Iliad is a one-man adaptation of Homer’s classic tale. The play is adapted by Denis O’Hare and Lisa Peterson. It is based on a translation by Robert Fagles and directed by Lisa Peterson.

The Playhouse said: An Iliad conjures the passion and rage of the gods and goddesses, and the mythic warriors in Homer’s sweeping epic, told through an original and immediate voice. A storyteller takes you to the front lines of every war in history, reliving humanity’s unshakeable attraction to violence, destruction and chaos. Has anything really changed since the Trojan War?
