The La Jolla Playhouse's Sam Bendrix at the Bon Soir, which is performed at Martinis Above Fourth in Hillcrest, was extended an extra week through Oct. 17. The Playhouse announced the extension on Tuesday.

Sam Bendrix at the Bon Soir was written by Keith Bunin, directed by Mark Rucker and stars Luke Macfarlane, of ABC’s Brothers and Sisters. The production is part of the playhouse’s Without Walls program, where plays are taken off of the stage and brought into the community.

Luke Macfarlane transforms Martinis Above Fourth in Hillcrest into a Greenwich Village nightclub in 1958 - a decade before the Stonewall riots. The drinks and music flow as a young singer and his band take the stage for their last performance before leaving New York City for good. Macfarlane and his band showcase a musical score of American song classics that you won't want to miss.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online.

The La Jolla Playhouse offered a few tips for attendees. Food and drinks are available for purchase before and after the show. No food or drinks will be served during the performance. The Playhouse recommends arriving 30 minutes early to order drinks and at least an hour early to order food. Parking options included metered street parking or paid parking in the CVS parking lot and at 3940 Fourth Ave. Give plenty of time for parking. There will be no late seating. Seating is cabaret-style. Ticket holders will be assigned a seat at the table number they purchased when they arrive at the venue.
