La Jolla Band Hits It Big With 'Lifeguard'

The Saline Solutions, which frequently plays at Haute La Jolla Nights, has six show in San Diego County this month.

La Jolla band, The Saline Solutions, are hitting it big locally, with an original song on Lifeguard! a show on The Weather Channel, as well as six gigs this month. They’ve played at several Haute La Jolla Nights and other venues prior to now.

“We’re just getting started and our sound is just now starting to gel, so It really caught us by surprise when the Weather Channel asked to use one of our original songs in their new show Lifeguard!,” said Saline Solutions leader Mitch McCullough, “One day they just contacted us and asked us to sign a bunch of waivers giving them rights to our songs on our first CD. We were so stoked, so we did it.”

The Saline Solutions are making a name for themselves with their original songs mixing classic rock, blues and the surf culture with a style reminiscent of The Doors because of lead singer’s Mitch McCullough’s voice. Their second CD, Tangerines & Avocados, was released in late Spring 2013. The band frequently plays at Haute La Jolla Nights as well as other venues throughout San Diego.
