On what would have been his 107th birthday, a large crowd of adults and children came together on the campus of UC San Diego to celebrate Theodor Geisel, the man known to readers worldwide as Dr. Seuss.
Members of the public gathered in front of the Geisel Library building on Wednesday to eat birthday cake, drink punch and enjoy live music from The Teeny Tiny Pit Orchestra.
This year’s festivities coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Geisel Library building, which was formally dedicated in March 1971.
